The upcoming VW ID, which could possibly be called ID Neo, will be below 25,000 euros. After all, should be until 2022 still a model for around 20,000 euros, which will be similar to the T-Roc.

The ID Neo will probably only remain for a short time the only fully networked VW model. After the compact ID of the band is due to run from the end of 2019, will soon follow the SUV ID Crozz and the Bulli ID Buzz and the E-sedan ID Vizzon. The Volkswagen brand alone wants to invest around 18 billion euros in electromobility by 2023.

The VW ID corresponds to the exterior dimensions in about a VW Golf. Due to the omission of the internal combustion engine and the use of the MEB, the interior is as spacious as in a Passat. The range would be depending on the battery between 400 and 600 kilometers. Charge the battery within 15 minutes. The vehicle is powered by a 175 hp (125 kilowatt) electric motor.

The planned figures are impressive: In the period between 2020 and 2026, Volkswagen plans to build around ten million vehicles based on the MEB. In the first year of sale, the Wolfsburg group wants to sell around 150,000 electric cars.

Like every vehicle in the new ID series, it will be fully networked and offer various services. By 2025, VW plans to invest 3.5 billion euros in digitization and transform itself from a pure carmaker to a mobility provider. Part of the mobility offer will include a car sharing service, which is operated exclusively with electric cars and 2019 in Berlin to start. Initially, 1,500 E-Golfs will be rented, and as soon as they become available, the offer will be extended by 500 ID models.
