The Hummer EV is used by GMC as an electric "super truck"
"Ultium Drive" is the new, Group-wide electric drive technology from General Motors. For the Hummer EV Edition 1, the subsidiary GMC relies on an all-wheel drive setup consisting of two drive units with three electric motors for an output of around 1000 hp and 15,000 Nm of torque. This should go from 0 to 60 mph (0–97 km / h) in just three seconds. The battery capacity has not yet been revealed, but it is probably the largest battery pack from General Motors for the time being with 200 kWh. The range stated is up to over 560 km. Thanks to the 800 V architecture, the batteries can be charged with up to 350 kW of charging power in ten minutes for almost 100 km.
We only had one goal for the Hummer EV: to build the most capable truck to date," says Al Oppenheiser, the engineer responsible for the off-road vehicle. "It's an absolute off-road monster with a very special electric four-wheel drive system that enables maneuverability like never before at GM." In addition to the powerful electrical and off-road technology, the Hummer EV comes with advanced driver assistance systems including various cameras. A premium interior, removable roof modules and, depending on the version, adaptive air suspension, additional terrain options and more are also in prospect.
